Petersburg, January 24 – RIA Novosti, Boris Khodorovsky. A source familiar with the situation told RIA Novosti that striker Artem Dzyuba will not end his career after negotiations with Moscow football club Torpedo failed.

Earlier, Torpedo president Ilya Gerkus had said that the club would not sign Dziuba.

According to the source, the 34-year-old has no plans to announce his retirement. Interest in Dzyuba is shown by a club from Saudi Arabia, which is ready to pay a football player three million dollars per season, and the leader of the second Turkish league with a salary of one million dollars. Despite this, employment in Russia remains a priority for a football player, given the interests of his family.

According to another source, in the negotiations with Torpedo, it was not only about a salary of 500 thousand euros, as journalist Ivan Karpov had previously reported, but also about additional bonuses for completing tasks, goals scored and payments to Dzyuba’s agents. Petersburg “Zenith”, it was noted that the striker did not use the services of licensed intermediaries. Later, the functions of the agent were performed by his father.

Following the conclusion of the Russian championship of the 2021/22 season, Dzyuba announced that he is leaving Zenit, where he has been playing since the summer of 2015. Together with the St. Petersburg club, the striker became the four-time champion of Russia. He also won the country’s two Cups and four Super Cups, becoming the top scorer in RPL history. In November, Dzyuba terminated his contract with Turkish club Adana Demirspor and became a free agent.
