Peskov did not comment on the IOC’s attempt to admit Russians to tournaments

MOSCOW, January 25 – RIA Novosti. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov believes that it is too early to comment on the initiative of the International Olympic Committee on the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes who do not support special operations in Ukraine.

It was learned on Wednesday that the IOC Executive Committee will consider the issue of admission to international tournaments with the neutral status of Russian athletes who do not support the special operation in Ukraine.

“I think it’s impossible to comment before evaluating. We need to look at what gets accepted. One thing that has been remarkable so far – there is too much politics even in the wording of the initiative, and that must be foreign to the ideas of the party. The Olympic family,” he said.
