German handball players saved their chance to finish fifth at the World Handball Championship. National manager Alfred Gislason’s team beat African champion Egypt 35:34 (30:30, 17:14) after extra time and are now fighting against Norway or Hungary to win the qualifying round.
Knorr is the best shooter for the DHB team
Quarterback Juri Knorr (7 goals), captain Johannes Golla (6) and backfielder Julian Köster (6) became top pitchers in the selection of the German Handball Association (DHB) in Stockholm.
Two days ago, the team was eliminated from the medal race with a score of 28:35 against Olympic champion France. The final placement will be decided on the last day on Sunday.
