Belarus star Aryna Sabalenka has confirmed that women’s tennis number one is her next target after defeating Kazakhstani Elena Rybakina 2 sets to 1 in the Australian Open final to clinch her first of four Grand Slam titles. “Tournaments.
Sabalenka came from behind in the first set to beat Rybakina 4–6, 6–3, 6–4 to become the 58th player to win a major in the Open era.
Having previously lost three times on the golden court of the majors, Sabalenka became the fifth player in the Open era to win her first Grand Slam title after a delayed finish that Rybakina had previously achieved. Bem Sabalenka is trying to conquer the leadership of the women’s tennis world ranking, which is currently held by the Polish Iga Swatek.
