PRC president Pozdnyakov described boycotting the Olympics as a way to isolate Russian sport for 8 years

The decision to boycott the 2024 Olympics in Paris could lead to the isolation of Russian sports for at least two Olympic cycles, history does not know when such actions would have a positive effect, declaration Stanislav Pozdnyakov, President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).
The Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) called for the return of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions with neutral status on January 25, while recommending that athletes who actively support special operations in Ukraine should not be allowed.
In February 2022, the IOC recommended that international sports federations prevent Russian and Belarusian athletes from competing due to the situation in Ukraine. A number of international federations followed the recommendations, others allowed athletes on neutral status.
