Former coach Tarkhanov announces Tedesco’s invitation to Belgium national football team
MOSCOW, January 31 – RIA Novosti, Vasily Bogdanov. Alexander Tarkhanov, former head coach of the Russian national team, told RIA Novosti that former Moscow “Spartak” coach Domenico Tedesco has been invited to the Belgium national football team for the team’s generation change.
According to an HLN source, representatives of the Royal Belgian Football Association (KBVB) met with Tedesco on Monday. The 37-year-old German player’s contract will be extended until the 2026 World Cup.
“Another question is where to get new players. After all, Belgium is not that big of a country, it’s not that easy to replace the same Romelu Lukaku or Eden Hazard. In any case, I can only wish Tedesco good luck.” source added.
Tedesco worked in Leipzig from 2021 to 2022 and together they won the German Cup (2021/22). Previously, the German specialist headed the Moscow “Spartak”. Under his leadership, the Red-Whites took second place in the Russian Championship (2020/21).
