‘Mercedes’ reserve driver Mick Schumacher named ‘McLaren’ reserve driver in ‘Formula 1’
MOSCOW, February 1 – RIA Novosti. Formula 1 team McLaren announced on its official Twitter account that German driver Mick Schumacher will be the reserve driver of the stable next season.
In December last year, Schumacher became reserve driver for Mercedes, another championship team McLaren had agreed to merge with. McLaren uses Mercedes power plants as part of the partnership.
European Formula 3 and Formula 2 champion Mick Schumacher spent two full seasons in Formula 1 with Haas. Last season, the German scored the first points in Formula 1 and finished 16th in the drivers’ standings (12 points).
Mick Schumacher is the son of seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher, who played for Mercedes from 2010 to 2012.
