Patrushev expects the volleyball center in Yaroslavl to become a center of attraction for citizens
YAROSLAVL, February 3 – RIA Novosti. Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said that a large volleyball center under construction in Yaroslavl should become not only an arena for competitions, but also an attraction for citizens who can play sports there.
As part of his study trip to the Yaroslavl region on Friday, Patrushev visited the center’s construction site. It will be a multi-functional center that will allow various sports, especially volleyball and beach volleyball. The construction of the main building of the center with a capacity of 5 thousand spectators started at the end of 2020, and the construction is planned to be completed in March 2024.
The Secretary of the Security Council noted that the construction was carried out at the expense of the capabilities of special structures, federal and regional budgets.
But it is important not only to build a new volleyball center, but also to ensure that it works in the interests of Yaroslavl. “Here we need to create an attraction for citizens so that they can not only come and watch sports events, but also play sports and relax,” said Patrushev.
In the sports complex, there will be a training hall with a tribune for 500 people, a 25-meter lane swimming pool, a fitness area and artificial sand beach sports area, group and team sports halls.
Yaroslavl Region is not currently represented in the men’s or women’s volleyball super league. Men’s “Yaroslavich” plays in the second strongest Russian league.
