MOSCOW, February 5 – RIA Novosti, Artem Chesnokov. From February 5 to February 11, Kazan will host the third Figital Games competitions, organized according to the physical + digital concept and combining classical sports with e-sports or VR-/AR technology.
Each new Figital Games draw differs from the previous one in a number of disciplines. In February, participants will try their hand at five categories. Teams from the MOBA video games Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) and the shooter games Warface and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are invited to the tournament. The winners of the Dota 2 competition will then play with the winners of MLBB in a laser tag demonstration match, where the best Warface team will meet the strongest CS:GO team in a laser tag battle royale format.
Four teams will take part in each of these four disciplines, which will be represented by athletes from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, as well as the USA, Argentina, Brazil, Vietnam, Cambodia and the Philippines.
The fifth discipline is called Speedrun, participants have to go through speed games. The competition will be held in three phases, and each will feature three games, including Super Mario bros, Chip’n’Dale, Quake, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Hitman: Codename 47, and more. Four teams, represented by three participants, will compete in a laser tag demonstration match where they will compete for an additional cash prize.
Spectators will be able to watch the competitions in the social network “VKontakte”. The Speedrun tournament will take place on February 5-8, Dota 2 and MLBB – February 6-8, Warface and CS:GO – February 9-11.
Competitions will be held in Kazan “IT-Park” and “Kazan Expo” exhibition center. The city hosted the previous two draws, which were watched by over 36.5 million people. The Figital Games is a series of competitions ahead of the “Games of the Future” to be held in Kazan in 2024, which will be the largest international tournament of this format and will include 16 disciplines and will be attended by around 2,000 people.
