Navka supported Kostomarov, who was taken to the hospital where part of his leg was amputated
MOSCOW, February 8 – RIA Novosti. In a duet with Roman Kostomarov, 2006 Olympic ice dancing champion Tatyana Navka expressed her support for the figure skater.
On January 10, Kostomarov entered intensive care with pneumonia and was later transferred to Kommunarka, where he began the procedure for artificial oxygen saturation of blood with ECMO, which is used to sustain life in emergency situations. Later, the patient was disconnected from this system and his condition improved. On Tuesday, a source familiar with the situation told RIA Novosti that doctors operated on the former figure skater to amputate part of his leg for gangrene. On Wednesday, Kostomarov turned 46.
“You have no idea how many people are praying for you right now! Fans are sending words of love, faith and support. Hold on, get stronger and show the world that you can do so much!” – Added former figure skater.
On New Year’s holidays, Kostomarov performed in the program “The Wizard of Oz” by Ilya Averbukh.
Kostomarov was paired with Tatyana Navka. In addition to the Olympic gold, the duet has two wins at the world championships and three each at the European and Russian championships and the Grand Prix Final. At various times, Ekaterina Davydova and Anna Semenovich were partners of Kostomarov.
