Ovechkin Sr. died in Moscow at the age of 72. The hockey player himself announced the death of his father earlier on Wednesday.

“I wrote to Sasha (Ovechkin). It is a difficult situation to leave such a valuable person. I conveyed my deepest condolences to him. I knew Uncle Misha very well. At the moment, all my thoughts, thoughts and condolences are with Sasha. This Fedorov told reporters “It is a difficult situation in life. Uncle Misha will remain in our hearts and memories,” he said.

As a football player, Mikhail Ovechkin played in the reserve team of Dynamo Moscow. After completing his sports career, he took up coaching.
