French cyclist Arnaud Demar wins stage 13 of the Giro d’Italia
MOSCOW, May 20 – RIA Novosti. French cyclist Arnaud Demar from Groupama-FDJ won the 13th stage of the Giro d’Italia stage race.
Demar completed the 150-kilometer stage on the San Remo – Cuneo route in 3 hours 18 minutes and 16 seconds on Friday. Germany’s Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain Victorious) finished second, Briton Mark Cavendish (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team) third, both riders finished with the leader’s time.
Pavel Sivakov (Ineos Grenadiers), who changed his sports citizenship from Russian to French, took 58th place (+0.21).
Spain’s Juan Pedro Lopez (Trek – Segafredo) is the leader in the general classification with a total of 54 hours 37 minutes 23 seconds, Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz (Ineos Grenadiers) is second, Portugal’s João Almeida (UAE Team Emirates) is third, both riders are behind the leader for 12 seconds.
Sivakov moved up five places in the overall standings and is currently ranked 24th (+12.15).
