Tennis player Rublev defeated Grikspur in the second round of the tournament in Doha.
MOSCOW, February 22 – RIA Novosti. Russian Andrey Rublev reached the quarter finals of the ATP 250 tennis tournament held in Doha with a prize fund of over $1.3 million.
Rublev, who took first place, defeated Dutch Tallon Grikspur with the scores of 1:6, 6:1, 7:6 (8:6) in the second round. Tennis players spent 1 hour and 52 minutes on the court. In the third set, the score was 5:3 in favor of the Dutch, Rublev won the game by scoring three points on the opponent’s serve.

In the quarter-finals, the Russian opponent will be Czech Jiri Legechka.
Rublev is Russia’s first racket and ranks fifth in the ranking of the best tennis players in the world. He won the Tokyo Games Olympic gold in mixed doubles, 12 tournaments in singles under the auspices of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), won the Davis Cup as part of the Russian team and the 2021 ATP Cup.
