MOSCOW, February 28 – RIA Novosti, Andrey Senchenko. CSKA defender and captain Nikita Nesterov noted the high preparation of the Red-Blues for the Continental Hockey League (KHL) playoffs.
CSKA finished second in the Western Conference standings after the results of the regular season. Seventh-placed Severstal became the opponent of the red-blues in the first round of the playoffs. The first match will be played on March 2 in Moscow.
According to the results of February, the KHL recognized CSKA striker Mikhail Grigorenko as the best striker of the month. He scored 16 points (10 goals and 6 assists) in 12 games.
“There will be a different mood in the playoffs, different hockey. We will have to play harder on defense, easier on the team. Many players in our team know how to achieve the result. The team is protected and we have been playing together for a year already,” he said.
