Canadian Lutitt wins World Ski Jumping Championship
MOSCOW, March 1 – RIA Novosti. Canadian Alexandria Lutitt won the women’s ski jumping title at the World Ski Jumping Championships held in Planica, Slovenia.
Lutitt scored 264.4 points on Wednesday topping HS138. Second place was taken by Norwegian Maren Lundby (254.0), Olympic champion of the Games in Pyeongchang. Two-time Olympic silver medalist, German Katarina Althaus (245.9) rounded out the top three.
Lutitt is 19 years old. She is the bronze medalist of the Beijing Olympics in mixed competitions.
The World Championship will end on March 5. The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has suspended Russians and Belarusians from last season’s final starts due to the situation in Ukraine. In October, the FIS Council extended the suspension period for the 2022/23 season, so Russian athletes are missing the World Championships.
Norwegian skier Klebo finished fourth in the individual race at the World Championships
