Turkey launches checks against authorities after football riots in Bursa
ISTANBUL, March 5 – RIA Novosti. Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said that Turkish authorities started checks on many officials after a riot during a football match in Bursa.
According to the news of Habertürk TV, 40 thousand local fans of the match played between Bursaspor and Amedspor in Bursa stadium and ended 2-1 were allowed to enter the stadium “for security reasons”. Before the match, a fight broke out between the players of the two teams, there was another fight during the match, the police had to intervene. Bottles and similar objects were thrown on Amedspor players from the stands. After the match, the brawl continued.
Soylu said, “The scene we witnessed during the match in Bursa is unacceptable and has nothing to do with sports. An investigation has been launched against the officers who allowed such incidents in the stadium, many officials were dismissed.” from Twitter.
Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that it has launched an investigation regarding the fight between the players.
