The Spanish athlete who fell in the European Indoor Championships left the stadium on a stretcher

MOSCOW, March 6 – RIA Novosti. Spaniard Enrique López failed to finish the 60m hurdles final at the European Athletics Indoor Championships by falling.

European Championship is held in Istanbul. Before reaching the finish line, Lopez tripped at the last hurdle, lost her balance and fell, hitting her head hard on the ground. While the athlete was intervened by the medical teams who came to the scene, the athlete was taken on a stretcher. The 22-year-old Spaniard was hospitalized.

Lopez is now conscious, in a video posted by the Royal Spanish Athletic Federation (RFEA) on Twitter, the runner said he was doing well and thanked him for his support.

In February, Lopez tied the national record in the indoor 60m hurdles (7.48s). She participated in the World Athletics Championships held in Eugene (USA) in 2022.
