Italian Giulio Ciccone won the 15th stage of the Giro d’Italia.
MOSCOW, May 22 – RIA Novosti. Italian Giulio Ciccone from Trek-Segafredo won the 15th stage of the Giro d’Italia multi-day cycling race.
On Sunday, Ciccone completed the 177 km stage on the Rivarolo-Canavese – Horse route in 4 hours 37 minutes 41 seconds. Colombia’s Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain Victorious) was second behind 1m 31s, and Spain’s Antonio Pedrero (Movistar, +2.19) was third. Pavel Sivakov from Ineos Grenadiers, who changed his sports citizenship from Russian to French, was 20th behind 7 minutes 48 seconds.
In the Giro general classification, Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz (Ineos Grenadiers) is leading, Australia’s Jai Hindley (Bora – Hansgrohe) is second, 7 seconds behind and Portugal’s João Almeida (UAE Team Emirates, +0.30) is third. Sivakov is in 23rd place (+25.37).
The next stage of the race will be held on May 24.
