Zheleznyakov believes that Russian athletes should not attend the Games with a neutral status
MOSCOW, March 10 – RIA Novosti, Alena Sulizova. Alexei Zheleznyakov, the choreographer of the Eteri Tutberidze group, told RIA Novosti that Russian athletes should not compete at the Olympic Games under a neutral flag, as they are the face of the country.
The Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) called for the return of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions with neutral status on January 25, while recommending that athletes who actively support special operations in Ukraine should not be allowed. Later, the governments of more than 30 countries opposed the participation of Russians and Belarusians in the Olympics. IOC president Thomas Bach said governments should not decide who participates in international competitions.
“I believe we need to improve our history. Here’s the Asian Games – something big, global. A lot of countries will come and perform normally there. I’m like, ‘I think it’s wrong. Why should young athletes suffer because there is a kind of world-sharing? This is my opinion. We are proud of our country and we do not defend ourselves. An athlete, first of all, is the face of the country,” added the coach.

Figure skater Mozalev answered whether he is ready to go to the Games in a neutral status.
