Edmonton captain McDavid breaks Kucherov’s points record in an NHL season in the 21st century
MOSCOW, March 15 – RIA Novosti. Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid holds the record for most points scored in a single season during the 21st century National Hockey League (NHL) regular season.
The Canadian striker recorded the puck and assisted in the match against the Ottawa Senators (6:3). Now McDavid has 129 points (56 goals + 73 assists) in 68 games during the current NHL regular season.
The Canadian broke the record of Russian goalscorer of Tampa Bay Lightning club Nikita Kucherov, who recorded 128 points (41+87) in the 2018/19 season.
The NHL record for points scored in regular season games is held by former Edmonton hockey player Wayne Gretzky. He scored 215 points (52+163) in the 1985/86 season.
