Ross Colton (2nd minute) and Steven Stamkos (39, 56) each scored twice for Lightning. The author of the decisive attempt in the conflict was Alex Killorn. Devils recorded Tomas Tatar (29) and Timo Mayer (50, 58).

In another game of the day, the Florida Panthers defeated the Montreal Canadiens (9:5). Panthers goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky made 25 saves on 30 shots.
