Tennis player Alcaraz to play Sinner in the 1/2 finals of “Masters” at Indian Wells
MOSCOW, March 17 – RIA Novosti. Former world’s #1 Spanish player Carlos Alcaras will face Italian Yannick Sinner in the semi-finals of the $8.8 million Masters tennis tournament held in Indian Wells, USA.
Under the first point, Alcaraz defeated Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the eighth racket of the tournament, in the 1/4 final with 6:4, 6:4 scores. Tennis players spent 2 hours on the court. This is the 19-year-old Spaniard’s first victory over Auger-Aliassime, the Canadian athlete has won in the previous three matches.
In another match of the 1/4 finals, the current winner of the Indian Wells tournament, American Taylor Fritz (4), was defeated by Sinner (11) with scores of 4:6, 6:4, 4:6. The match lasted 2 hours and 17 minutes.
Alcaras and Sinner drew 2-2 head-to-head. In the other semi-final match, American Francis Tiafoe (14) and Russian Daniil Medvedev (5), who have won 18 consecutive wins this season, will take part.
