Avangard defeated Metallurg in overtime in the first leg of the 1/4 final of the Gagarin Cup.
MOSCOW, March 17 – RIA Novosti. Omsk “Vanguard” defeated Magnitogorsk “Metallurg” in overtime in the first match of the second round of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) playoffs.
The match, which took place in Omsk, ended in favor of the home team 2:1 (1:0, 0:1, 0:0, 1:0). Among the winners noted Reed Boucher (11th minute) and Arseniy Gritsyuk (69). On behalf of the visiting team, Semyon Koshelev (32) recorded.

For Edward Pasquale, the goalkeeper of the Magnitogorsk club, the match was the 200th match in the KHL.
Avangard took the lead for up to four wins in the series – 1-0. The second match of the Gagarin Cup 1/4 finals will be played on 19 March in Omsk.

SKA defeated “Torpedo” and took the lead in the 1/4 final series of the Gagarin Cup.
