Boxer Alvarez says he wants a rematch with Bivol after fighting with Ryder
MOSCOW, March 18 – RIA Novosti. Mexican boxer Saul Alvarez said that his goal after his fight with British John Ryder is a rematch with Russian Dmitry Bivol.
Alvarez lost to Bivol last May and did not become the World Boxing Association (WBA Super) light heavyweight champion. After the fight, the Mexican wanted a rematch. Bivol defended his title against Mexican Gilberto Ramirez on November 5, and Alvarez defeated Kazakh Gennady Golovkin in September in his third super middleweight match. The fight between Alvarez and Ryder will take place on May 6 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
“A rematch with Bivol is my goal, but now we have to get through this fight and we can start talking about the rematch with Bivol again. In boxing, you can never be sure that everything will be as everyone says. I will train.” As reported by Fight Hub TV, Alvarez said, “I’m 100% on everything and I won’t be that confident.”
Alvarez is 32 with 58 wins and two losses. WBA Super, World Boxing Organization (WBO), World Boxing Council (WBC) and IBF super middleweight champion.
