Biathlete Simon wins a small Crystal Globe in the World Cup collective starting standings
MOSCOW, March 19 – RIA Novosti. Frenchwoman Julie Simon is the recipient of a minor Crystal Globe for winning the collective starting standings at the Biathlon World Cup.
In the final stage in Holmenkollen, Norway, 26-year-old Simon finished fifth. The French woman scored 270 points in four races. The second is his compatriot, retired Anais Chevalier-Busche (206 points), the third – Hanna Oeberg from Sweden (195).
Simon is a two-time world champion. He also has a silver medal at the Olympic Games and two bronze medals at the world championships. The Frenchwoman has earned a large Crystal Globe and a small Crystal Globe in the follow-up rankings this season.
The Congress of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) in September 2022 approved the exclusion of Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions, amid the situation in Ukraine, until further notice.
