MOSCOW, March 20 – RIA Novosti. Russian forward “Tampa Bay Lightning” Nikita Kucherov scored 100 points in the regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL) 2022/23 season.
The Lightning forward scored a goal against the New Jersey Devils. This prolific move is 100th in the current draw for the Russian (28 goals and 72 assists). To achieve this goal, Kucherov took 71 matches.
The 29-year-old Lightning striker became the third player to score 100 points in the 2022-23 season. Earlier this peak was conquered by Edmonton Oilers forwards Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Among Russian hockey players, Kucherov is the fastest to reach hundreds of points in the current regular season.
Kucherov is in his ninth regular season in the NHL. For the third time in his career, he has scored 100 or more points in a championship. The best season for the Russian is 2018/19, after which the striker scored 128 points (41 goals and 87 assists) in 82 games. Kucherov is the only player in Tampa history to have more than one season with 100 points.
Ovechkin did not spare the Canadian goalkeeper: he scored two goals and stepped towards Gretzky’s record
