The manager has confirmed that Zenit players Malcolm and Claudinho have received their Russian passports.
st. PETERSBURG, March 20 – RIA Novosti, Dmitry Edigarev. Petersburg Zenit Malcolm and Claudinho’s Brazilian footballers’ manager, Luis Fernando Garcia, told RIA Novosti that the players received Russian passports.
At the end of February, both players received Russian citizenship by decree of the president of the country.
Malcom has been playing for Zenit since August 2019. The striker is this season’s St. Petersburg club, he made 26 appearances, scored 19 goals and made seven assists. Claudinho moved to Zenit in the summer of 2021. The player played 22 games in all lanes this season, performing 3 goals and 8 assists.
Malcolm has announced his intention to score 100 goals for Zenit.
