American journalists called Zagitova’s trick in the image of Marilyn Monroe unpleasant
MOSCOW, March 20 – RIA Novosti. American journalists Dave Leese and Jonathan Bayer criticized the performance of Olympic champion Alina Zagitova, who presented the trick in the image of Marilyn Monroe, at the show programs tournament.
On The Skating Lesson podcast, Liz and Byer discussed the Russian Challenge in Moscow. Journalists positively evaluated the performances of the participants, but the number of Zagitova seemed to them a failure.
“I’m going to be hated for this. I get so upset every time Alina Zagitova goes out. It always seems like a spanking or teasing in public. She’s really pretty but not smart,” said Liz.

The journalist also talked about the details of the image, which he described as cheap and unsuccessful.
“Of course they had to give Marilyn Monroe some encouragement. At the end of the show, the skirt is lifted with a wind machine. It’s very unpleasant but expected,” she added.
At the same time, Liz noted that many Russian skaters are not enough at international competitions.
Zagitova took the ninth place with 18.09 points with her performance. Alexei Yagudin won the tournament.
