Seven-time Formula 1 champion Schumacher’s car is up for auction
MOSCOW, March 21 – RIA Novosti. The Ferrari F1-2000 Formula 1 car, driven by the seven-time world champion, German Michael Schumacher, went on sale. Web site auction house Sotheby’s.
Initially, chassis 198 was intended to be used as a backup. It was one of the cars of the Germans’ first championship season with Ferrari. In 2000, Schumacher scored 108 points to win the overall classification and win his third world title. He won the Brazilian Grand Prix with this model and also earned pole position on the stages in Monaco and Spain.
The auction will be held from April 3-12. The starting price of the lot is not specified.
Previously, the Schumacher family had auctioned off the 1998 Ferrari F300 ($6.2 million), the 2001 F2001 ($7.5 million), and the 2003-GA F2003 ($14.9 million).
Schumacher suffered a severe head injury in 2013. Since then, his family has hardly reported on the racecar driver’s health. It was reported that the weekly maintenance was estimated at 115 thousand liras.
