The roof of the stadium where the Russian national football team will play in Tehran is leaking.
TEHRAN, March 22 – RIA Novosti, Alexander Govorov. According to the RIA Novosti reporter from the scene, the roof of the Azadi stadium in Tehran, where the Russian team will play a friendly match with the Iranian team, is leaking after the rain.
At least one leak occurred at the entrance of the Azadi Arena VIP stands. In addition, several stands of the stadium are currently being rebuilt.
The meeting between the Iranian and Russian teams will be held on Thursday and will start at 20:00 Moscow time.
The last time the teams met and drew in 2017 – 1:1, Serdar Azmun and Dmitry Poloz scored. The friendly match played in Abu Dhabi in 2011 ended in a 1-0 win for the Iranians. The Iranian team defeated Wales (2:0) in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar, where they lost to England (2:6) and USA (0:1).
