Former CSKA player Carvalho said he is not considering taking Russian citizenship.
MOSCOW, March 25 – RIA Novosti, Alexander Sergeev. Brazilian Daniel Carvalho, who won the UEFA Cup with CSKA Moscow, said that he did not think about obtaining Russian citizenship while playing in the army team from 2004 to 2010.
The 40-year-old Brazilian played a friendly match with the Red-Blues against Medialiga team 2Drots (1:2) on Saturday. In February 2023, Brazilian footballers Malcolm and Claudinho, who played for Zenit, received Russian citizenship.
The Brazilian also shared his positive feelings about the CSKA match and his arrival in Russia.
“After the holiday feeling I had today, I can now officially retire. I was extremely happy living here. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the great infrastructure that our club has now. If we had all won in those days then “What a great success it will be if you take advantage of all that now. A stylish stadium and support, great atmosphere. Moscow has changed, it has become a completely different city. I hope to come back many times,” Carvalho added.

Carvalho presented CSKA with the best player award in the UEFA Cup final.
