The PRC will monitor the actions of the federations on the admission of athletes from Russia
MOSCOW, March 28 – RIA Novosti, Sergey Fuks. President of the PRC Stanislav Pozdnyakov said that the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) will monitor the actions of international federations for Russian athletes to participate in international competitions.
On Tuesday, the IOC Executive Committee, following the results of their first day meetings in Lausanne, recommended that international federations allow Russians who do not support the SVO to compete as neutral athletes. IOC president Thomas Bach said the organization reserves the right to decide on the participation of Russian athletes in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The IOC also recommended that athletes affiliated with the armed forces or security agencies not be allowed to compete. According to the recommendations of the IOC, public statements by athletes on social networks, participation in rallies and the display of symbols supporting the CBO, for example, the Z symbol, should be taken into account in matters related to the admission of Russian athletes. The Executive Committee recommended that Russian and Belarusian teams not be admitted as participants in international competitions in team sports.
