Individual tests of neutral Russian athletes will be conducted by RUSADA.
MOSCOW, March 31 – RIA Novosti, Andrey Simonenko. The press service of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) told RIA Novosti that individual testing of neutral athletes will be carried out by the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA).
On Tuesday, the IOC Executive Committee recommended that international federations allow Russian and Belarusian athletes who do not support the SVO to participate in international competitions as neutral athletes. One of the criteria is additional doping testing of Russian athletes.
In December 2019, following a series of doping scandals related to Russian sports, the WADA executive board acknowledged that RUSADA had failed to comply with anti-doping law. On December 17, 2020, CAS determined that to restore World Anti-Doping Code compliance, RUSADA must meet a set of conditions within two years (or earlier in agreement with WADA), including an audit.
