Ak Bars defeated Avangard in the first game of the KHL Eastern Conference playoff finals.
WIN, April 1 – RIA Novosti. Kazan “Ak Bars” defeated Omsk “Avangard” in overtime in the first match of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) Eastern Conference final playoff series.
The match in Kazan ended with the score 3:2 (1:0, 1:0, 0:2, 1:0). For Ak Bars, Dmitry Kagarlitsky made a double (3rd and 32nd minutes), while Kirill Panyukov (63) scored. Korben Knight scored both goals in Avangard (50, 60).

Striker “Ak Bars” Artem Lukoyanov played his 700th game in the KHL, and Kagarlitsky played his 50th game in the playoffs. Another Kazan striker, Alexander Radulov, scored 650 points with his assist in the KHL. Corban Knight scores for the eighth game in a row (5 goals + 5 assists).
In the series that went up to four victories, the score was 1-0 in favor of Ak Bars. The next match will be played on April 3 in Kazan.
