Football player Zobnin announced that he refused to play for the Russian national team, seeking to extend his career.
MOSCOW, April 1 – RIA Novosti, Svetlana Bonopartova. Spartak Moscow midfielder Roman Zobnin told reporters that he does not want to be called up to the Russian national football team because of his desire to extend his career.
Earlier, the head coach of the Russian national team, Valery Karpin, reported that Zobnin asked not to be called temporarily for health reasons.
“Eight people from Spartak got into the national team, it’s quite difficult. Almost half of the key players are gone. Everyone came back in good shape, so everything is fine, the main thing is without injuries. I know for myself that I have to make the transition. The club came back to the national team, they did it well.” he said.
