Epe fencer Anokhin became the winner of the international tournament “World Cup” in Kazan
MOSCOW, April 1 – RIA Novosti. Russian epee fencer Vadim Anokhin became the winner of the international fencing tournament “World Cup”, held in Kazan.
Defeated Pavel Buzinov in the final. The bronze medal winners were Yegor Lomaga and Georgy Bruev.
The competition will end on April 2nd. Teams from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Iraq, Lebanon, Serbia and Vietnam applied for participation in the tournament.
In March, the delegates of the Extraordinary Congress of the International Fencing Federation (FIE) decided to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in international competitions. Russian Fencing Federation President Ilgar Mammadov said that Russian and Belarusian fencers will be able to participate in international competitions from mid-April.
