Tampa NHL guard Sergachev injured in NHL game against Islanders
MOSCOW, April 2 – RIA Novosti. Tampa Bay Lightning Russian guard Mikhail Sergachev was injured during a National Hockey League (NHL) regular season game against the New York Islanders.
In the 13th minute of the third period, Sergachev collided with Canadian Islander forward Jean-Gabriel Pazho and injured his leg. The Russian player first tried to continue the game, but then limped off the field and went to the locker room. More Sergachev did not appear on the ice. After the match, Tampa’s head coach, John Cooper, said there were no details about Sergachev’s health.
The match, which took place in Tampa, ended in a big win with the home team’s score of 5:0. Sergachev became the author of the winning goal and an assist. The 2022/23 season is the best in terms of performance in a Russian career in the NHL. In 75 league games, Sergachev recorded 59 points (9 goals and 50 assists).
