Selyuk said that pride and hatred will not allow Karpin to call Dziuba.
Petersburg, April 3 – RIA Novosti, Dmitry Edigarev. Valery Karpin, head coach of the Russian national football team, will not invite striker Artem Dzyuba to the national team because of his pride and hatred, manager Dmitry Selyuk expressed this opinion in a meeting with RIA Novosti.
Dziuba moved to Lokomotiv Moscow in February, scoring six goals in six matches for this team. The 34-year-old striker was not called up to the Russian national team for the friendly matches to be played against the Iranian and Iraqi teams in March. Karpin told reporters that Dzyuba was not called up by the national team, because in conditions of suspension from international competitions there is no point in attracting players of age.
Dziuba last played for the Russian national team at the European Championship in June 2021. Later, the striker was not called to the team either on his own initiative or with the decision of the technical committee. Dziuba shares the first place in the list of the best scorers of the Russian national team with Alexander Kerzhakov (30 goals each).
