MOSCOW, April 8 – RIA Novosti. Petersburg “Zenith” basketball players defeated the Moscow MBA in the fourth match of the VTB United League playoff quarterfinals series and moved on to the next stage of the tournament.
The match in Moscow ended with the score of 99:80 (23:23, 28:19, 24:21, 24:17). In the visiting team, Tom Ertel also made a double-double (20 points, 11 assists). Evgeny Voronov became the most productive player of the home team (17 points).
The series went up to three wins and the score was 3-1 in favor of “blue-white-blue”. The opponent “Zenith” in the semi-finals will be UNICS Kazan, who previously won the series against Perm “Parma” (3-0).
Zenit is the current champion of the VTB United League. The MBA spent its first season in the league, the team consisted entirely of Russian players.
