RBU will develop alternative criteria for the admission of athletes to tournaments
MOSCOW, April 12 – RIA Novosti, Svetlana Bonopartova. The head of the RBU, Viktor Maygurov, said that the Russian Biathlon Union, together with colleagues from Belarus, plans to propose to the International Biathlon Union (IBU) criteria for the admission of Russians and Belarusians to international tournaments.
On March 28, the IOC recommended that international federations allow the Russians, who did not support the special operation as neutral athletes, to begin. At the same time, the organization recommends that athletes affiliated with the armed forces and security services not be allowed to compete.
The IOC also recommended that teams from Russia and Belarus not be considered as participants in international competitions.
