Norway refuses to send fencers to tournaments attended by Russians
MOSCOW, April 14 – RIA Novosti. The Norwegian Fencing Federation will not send its athletes to tournaments where athletes from Russia and Belarus will participate.
Previously, the Congress of the International Fencing Federation (FIE) decided by a majority vote that the Russian and Belarusian fencers should return to the international starts from mid-April. On Wednesday, it was learned that the Polish Fencing Federation refused to host the Women’s Foil Fencing World Cup stage in light of this decision.
Previously, the IOC had recommended that international federations allow the Russians, who did not support the special operation as neutral athletes, to begin. At the same time, the organization recommends that athletes affiliated with the armed forces and security services not be allowed to compete.
Zhulin believes that the Ukrainian boycott of the tournaments will not affect the participation of the Russians
