Valieva said that after the doping scandal, other athletes looked at her strangely.

MOSCOW, April 22 – RIA Novosti. 2022 Olympic figure skating champion Kamila Valieva says she caught the odd gaze of other athletes at the Beijing Games following the start of the doping scandal.

After the 2022 Olympics team tournament, in which Valieva helped the Russian team win, it was learned that the figure skater’s doping test on December 25, 2021 gave a positive result. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) allowed the athlete to participate in the individual tournament of the Games, where he finished fourth. The International Olympic Committee announced the results of the Beijing Games competitions with the participation of Valieva as a preliminary, and the ceremony of awarding the winners of the team tournament of the Olympics was postponed until the investigation of the case was completed. Valieva’s case is currently at CAS.

“I watched the free program from the Olympics three times. I have tears in my eyes. To see how it looks from the outside. I looked and left. Everything was chaotic, incomprehensible. The environment would allow me to breathe. If you were fresh in the team match, it’s okay if you were in this state for ten days, then a load from behind It’s coming, you know, some athletes are turning around and looking weird. You know you’re a strong girl, but it was very difficult to jump because of what you built for yourself and what fell on me. A change of scenery couldn’t have been better,” Valiyeva said on the Free Program podcast on Channel One.

Valieva chose the brightest moment of the last season

“At first I was afraid to go to the gym where we trained, but then I calmed down. But when you go to practice and you see that the whole arena is made up of click cameras instead of a few photographers. Everything is photographed, everything is broadcast. “My God,” thought Valieva.

In January, it was reported that the RUSADA disciplinary anti-doping committee determined that Valieva was not guilty of violating anti-doping rules, but at the same time canceled her result in the Russian Championship – 2022. RUSADA, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Skating Union (ISU) appealed against the decision of the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Board before CAS.
