Agent Safonov: If “Legionary lumberjacks” come to RPL, it’s a problem for clubs
MOSCOW, May 2 – RIA Novosti, Vasily Bogdanov. Commenting on RIA Novosti about the foreign player limitation in the Russian Premier League (RPL), football manager Alexei Safonov pointed out that the clubs that invited them were primarily responsible for the emergence of poor quality foreign players.
From the 2022/23 season, the team’s application for the season cannot have more than 13 foreign players (no more than eight on the field). Earlier, former actors of Moscow “Spartak” Roman Pavlyuchenko and Denis Boyarintsev called for tightening the limit.
