Fakel urged RFU to explain in detail the replacement of referee for RPL match with Rostov
MOSCOW, May 3 – RIA Novosti. Voronezh Fakel appealed to the head of the refereeing department of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Pavel Kamantsev, with a request to comment on the replacement of the referee for the match against Rostov in the 26th week of the Russian Premier League (RPL). reported on the club’s Telegram channel.
The meeting will be held on May 6 in Rostov-on-Don and will begin at 19:00 Moscow time. Initially, the referee of the match was Vitaly Meshkov, but due to the reoccurrence of his injury, he was replaced by Evgeny Kukulyak.

For the previous time this season, Kukulyak took part in the second stage of the quarter-finals of the Russian Cup Regions Road in March, at the Zenit St. He was appointed as the chief referee of the match between St. Petersburg and Dynamo Moscow (1:1, 4:5 on penalties).
The Expert Referee Commission (ESC) found Kukulyak’s work insufficient, stating that despite Claudinho’s foul on Konstantin Tyukavin, despite using the video assistant referee (VAR) system, he did not accidentally give a penalty to Zenit. He also did not remove Zelimkhan Bakaev from the field, accidentally showing him the second yellow card.
After the match in St. Petersburg, Kamantsev said that Kukulyak will temporarily not book appointments for RPL and National Cup matches.
