El Chiringuito TV: Messi signs contract with Al-Hilal
MOSCOW, May 8 – RIA Novosti. Argentina and Paris Saint-Germain international Lionel Messi will continue his career in Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal alongside former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, according to the El Chiringuito TV podcast.
According to a source, the PSG striker has signed with a club from Riyadh. Alba will sign a two-season contract with Al-Hilal at the end of the season, while Busquets will begin contract negotiations after terminating his current deal with Barcelona.
Previously, it was reported that PSG management suspended Messi from training with the team for two weeks for unauthorized travel to Saudi Arabia. According to media reports, Messi left for Riyadh after losing to Lorient in the 33rd round match of the French championship (1:3) on April 30 in Paris. On May 1, Galtier planned a training session, but the Argentine athlete did not come to it. It turned out that he left the club without the permission of the coach. Messi later apologized to his teammates and the club, and on Monday PSG announced that Messi had returned to training with the team.
The media also reported that PSG management offered the Argentine player a new contract on improved terms. It was noted that Messi requested time from the Paris club management to consider options. PSG are ready to give Messi time, but have asked him not to delay the decision.
Messi joined PSG in the summer of 2021 and joined the Paris club on a free transfer after his contract with Barcelona expired. The 35-year-old Argentine’s contract with the Parisians expires at the end of the season. Messi became world champion in December, winning the Golden Ball seven times.
