Former midfielder “Zenith” Witsel has ended his career with the Belgium national team.
MOSCOW, May 12 – RIA Novosti. Atletico midfielder Axel Witsel has announced his retirement from the Belgium national football team.
Witsel, 34, made 130 appearances for the Belgium national team, scored 12 goals, provided eight assists and helped the national team win a bronze medal at the 2018 World Cup held in Russia. From 2012 to 2016, Witsel played at club level, together with the championship, the Cup of Russia and the Zenit St. Petersburg represented.
