The new stadium “Fakela” in Voronezh will have an artificial field
VORONEZH, May 16 – RIA Novosti. Russian Governor Aleksandr Gusev said that the new stadium of Fakel, who plays in the Russian Premier League championship, which is actively being built in Voronezh, will have an artificial football ground.
Construction of a new stadium for Fakel began last year on the site of the old Fakel stadium, which mainly hosts track and field events. It is assumed that the new arena will meet all modern requirements and can accommodate up to 10,000 spectators. The stadium is scheduled to be ready in 2023.
Fakel will be performing at his home in the Unions Central Stadium this season. It was the home ground of “Fakel” in all seasons (in 1985, 1992, 1997, 2000 and 2001) of the club’s performance in the top league of local football. The stadium is Voronezh’s main sports arena and can accommodate just over 20,000 spectators. Here, on 17 November 2010, the Russian national football team played a friendly match against the Belgium national team, losing 0:2.
After the 27th round of the Russian Premier League championship, “Fakel” is in 12th place among 16 teams with 27 points.

The president of Rayo Vallecano compared the field of the Barcelona stadium to a hockey rink.
