MOSCOW, June 10 – RIA Novosti. Russian Ice Dance Championship winners Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin added the Georgian flag to their profile descriptions.
At the same time, the descriptions of the profiles of the athletes mentioned the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, where they performed as part of the Russian team.
Earlier, the Georgian Figure Skating Federation announced that the duo was transferred to the national team and that they could compete in international tournaments next season. Until May 2023, Davis and Smolkin represented the Russian national team.
The daughter of Russian coach Eteri Tutberidze, Davis holds American and Georgian citizenship. His partner – the son of actor Boris Smolkin – has Israeli citizenship. Athletes are silver medalists of the Russian championship. The duo took 14th place at the 2022 Olympics held in Beijing.
