MOSCOW, May 29 – RIA Novosti. The New York Rangers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 6 of the National Hockey League (NHL) second-round playoff series.
The match, which took place in New York, ended in favor of the home team at 5:2 (2:0, 2:2, 1:0). Among the victories, Filip Chytil scored a double goal (24th and 27th minutes), Tyler Mott (8), Mika Zibanejad (10) and Russian striker Artemi Panarin (48) also scored. The Carolinas scored goals from Brady Shay (26) and Vincent Trochek (33).
Russian Rangers goalkeeper Igor Shesterkin saved 37 of 39 shots, provided two assists and was named the second star of the match. Striker “Carolina” Andrey Svechnikov fired a shot at the target and made five powerful moves.
With up to four wins in the series, the score is tied – 3-3. The seventh meeting will be held in Raleigh on 31 May.
