MOSCOW, September 19 – RIA Novosti, Svetlana Bonopartova. Russian Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin expressed hope that the voice of reason will prevail in the International Olympic Committee (IOC) regarding the admission of Russian athletes to the Olympic Games.
On March 28, the IOC Executive Committee recommended that international federations allow Russians who do not support the special operation to compete as neutral athletes. The organization also recommends denying participation in team disciplines of national teams, as well as athletes affiliated with the armed forces and security agencies. The IOC has not yet announced the admission of Russian athletes to the Paris Olympics.
